To make this soap I started with my standard oil blend. I decided that I wanted to make a soap that combined the essence of cardamom and clove. It seemed obvious to me that the color of this soap should be yellow – as yellow as yellow can be! Hence, Sunshine soap was born!

I added Calendula flowers to the top of this soap, before it hardened, and colored it with Safflower and Beetroot powder. Yes, I know that Beetroot is red, but when you add it to a cold-process soap mixture, it becomes a glorious yellow! The properties of Cardamom and Clove are below.
Cardamom Seed essential oil – The scent promotes a positive (sunny) mood. Spicy, fruity and warm. Can make you feel grounded. Helps to bring balance and objectivity during moments of frustration. Balances and unblocks the Svadisthana (2nd / sacral) chakra.
Clove essential oil – Spicy and heart-warming; energy booster. Helps people have clear boundaries and stand up for themselves. Encourages independence and builds courage. Can help with balancing the Vishuddha (5th / throat) chakra.
